How do I counter act my kitchen and my garage?
My mums house is very welcoming, but if you drive your car into the garage there is a door straight through the kitchen. How do I counteract this?
As you probably know, an attached garage is typically treated as part of the house. With that in mind, you need to decorate your garage using basic feng shui principles.
First, make sure the garage is clean and organized. In addition to getting rid of all junk, the trick to keeping a garage organized is to utilize every square inch of space for storage. Install utility shelving, racks, and/or hangers from floor to ceiling.
Also make sure the garage is well lit and attractive. You may even want to paint the floor and/or hang artwork.
Along with basic feng shui decorating, you want to soften any poison arrows and slow down the flow of chi. Remember, you generally don't want energy flowing in a straight line. Chi flows like water, so if you don't divert the chi, all positive energy will flow too quickly into (and out of) your home.
Here are some suggestions to counteract poison arrows and slow down the flow of energy:
- Make sure the garage door and the door into the kitchen are sturdy, attractive and well-maintained.
- Although you want to keep the entrance clutter-free, a cascading tree-like plant near the kitchen door will soften poison arrows.
- To counteract poison arrows, try placing folding screens just inside the kitchen so that the energy will be diverted once inside.
- Crystals, wind chimes, mirrors, and fountains will all help to slow down and redirect energy. Place them near the kitchen door.
I hope this helps!
